Event Photography

Event photography is the capture of any type of group event or gathering. There are various types of event photography that fall under this category, but the main feature is that you will be photographing candid events as they occur.

The fact that event photography is all about capturing an event as it unfolds around you is also what makes it difficult at first if you've only shot in a controlled environment.

With studio photography, you can tinker with your subject or the lighting until the image is just right. In that sense, event photos aren't as forgiving, but the unexpected element makes event photography interesting and rewarding.

You'll most likely market yourself as a general event photographer when you first start out. As you gain experience, you may discover that there is one type of event photography that you excel at or that you prefer.
